Who, what and why
Helmut is a painter living in the centre of tne Netherlands.
He depicts everyday behaviors in the animal world, expressive postures of both humans and animals and overwhelming and mysterious natural phenomena.
Through his works, he aims to convey his own impressions of the beauty and universal lessons from the everyday world.
Favorite subjects, influences and mediums
Soft pastel allows him to achieve rich colors, soft textures, and detailed expressions, which is essential for conveying the vivid nature, emotions and characters in his art.
Animal behavior , overwhelming and mysterious natural phenomena, sagas and legends from around the world and epressive facial expressions are his ources of inspiration.
Motivation, mission and context
He strives to explore common elements in different cultures, universal lessons, humorous situations in animal life, and the symbolism in nature.
His artworks tell stories about human behavior, often reflected in animals.
